EasyCMD

Assuming you are already familiar with cmd, the command-line interpreter that’s part of the Windows operating system, then the main thing you need to know about EasyCMD is that it is an alternative to the aforementioned cmd. It has a minimalist interface (just like cmd), it runs any command you type in (just like cmd), it doesn’t have to be installed (just like cmd), and it doesn’t cost a thing (just like cmd).

To get EasyCMD up and running on your Windows PC you’ll have to download a ZIP archive, extract its contents, and then run the EasyCMD executable. Since EasyCMD doesn't need to be installed, you can copy its executable to a portable storage device and take EasyCMD with you.

EasyCMD has a minimalist interface that you’ll figure out in no time at all. At the top there’s a text box that you can use to type in a command. Next to the text box there’s an Execute button that will run the command you typed in; but you’ll never use this button because you can run the command by pressing Enter. And down at the bottom there’s a large panel that presents information about the command you ran. So if you type in Help for example, this panel will display a list of commands.

EasyCMD is offered for free, which is great. But to be honest, I’m finding it hard to think of a reason why you would want to get this application. Regular folk who rarely if ever user the command prompt won’t need an application like EasyCMD. And experienced users who do use the command prompt, won’t see the need to switch to EasyCMD, not when it offers the same functionality as cmd and nothing extra.
